FLATLINERS (1990)
Flatliners is a psychological thriller directed by Joel Schumacher and released in 1990. The film explores the dark and mysterious world of near-death experiences and the consequences of playing with life and death. The story revolves around a group of medical students at a prestigious university, led by the ambitious and curious Nelson Wright (played by Kiefer Sutherland). They embark on a dangerous and controversial experiment to discover what happens after death by intentionally inducing near-death experiences. They take turns stopping their hearts for short periods, then revive each other to recount their experiences.
